Dental decorations
What are tooth gems or tooth crystals?
Dental ornaments are tiny crystal figurines that are glued to the tooth without damaging the tooth enamel. The decoration is about 0.5 mm thick, width-length varies (~2-3 mm). Since the tooth decoration is relatively thin, you get used to it quite quickly. The range of figurines available includes, for example, gold hearts, celestial stars, dolphins, etc. Tooth ornaments are made of precious metal, only in the form of a stone, as well as a precious metal figurine with a stone.
How are the decorations installed?
Before installation, the surface of the tooth is treated with acid and then the dental gem is attached to the tooth with a special flowable filling material. The filling material is hardened using a lamp. The entire procedure takes about 15 minutes and is completely painless.
How is tooth crystal removed?
If you want to remove the decoration later, it only takes 15 minutes at the dentist. Tooth decoration is removed from the surface of the tooth with special grinding burs and polishing discs. The surface of the tooth is smooth and undamaged even after the decoration is removed.
How long does it last?
In theory, a properly installed and maintained tooth gem should last on the tooth for years, but careless actions (e.g. chewing hard food, trauma, etc.) can break it too soon. If the back surface of the tooth ornament is undamaged and the old ornament is in good condition, it can usually be glued back on if desired.
The price of tooth gem installation
The price of installing a tooth crystal consists of the installation fee plus the price of the decoration. The price of the ornament depends on how much precious metal is in the figurine and how valuable the stone is. See the price list for more details (hygiene/aesthetics section).
